Attacks Against Secular Government

2/11/17

Republicans brazenly lie about their true agenda
because they know that most Americans would never support them
if they knew what Republicans were really up to.
Once they secured power, Republicans shed the pretenses
and proceeded to begin dismantling the United States;
selling it off, piece by piece, to the rich.
They have already begun executing a plan
to give huge chunks of taxpayer-owned land to the wealthy,
and now that DeVos has been confirmed as Education Secretary,
the dismantling of the public school system can begin ...

with the proceeds going to their cronies

Well let's look at the bright side:
We didn't need all that science and history anyway.
Our kids will all be a lot better off being raised
the same way kids are raised in Muslim countries:
on a massive diet of ancient Holy Scriptures,
in place of all that useless science and rational thinking nonsense.

2/6/17

At the National Prayer Breakfast,
Trump distracted the easily-distracted Conservatives
with tripe like the Schwarzenegger nonsense.

But here is the real nitty-gritty

Yeah, these Conservatives are real strict Constitutionalists aren't they?

The Johnson Amendment is perfectly compatible with the Constitution.
The Tea Party is ripping our Constitution to shreds
and they are doing it for the rich.

1/16/17

Here is an opportunity to learn a lot about evangelical history.
The Reformation wasn't what most of us were taught in school.
And the horrors of that movement are still destroying civilizations to this day.
(it's a little long - but one hell of a read)

The roots of the anti-intellectualism
that is playing out in modern-day America

1/9/17

Christians control nearly 100% of the government of the United States.
Conservatives now control all branches of the federal government
and the majority of state governments.

1/4 of the U.S. population (the "Nones") goes unrepresented in our government.
This includes the Presidency, Congress, and the Supreme Court.

Non-Christians have been completely disenfranchised
from participation in the governing of our nation.
(a similar situation exists in Saudi Arabia ...
but with a different Ghost in charge)

If you think the first part of the 21st century has been rough ...
you probably won't like what's comin' our way in the next 4 years

11/22/16

Republicans promised to reduce the size of government.
So how do they do that?

By increasing the size of government, of course

So a guy who has probably never seen the inside of a church in his life (Trump)
has decided that America needs to become the Saudi Arabia of the West.

I guess that's because he must repay those responsible for his November miracle.

Remember the infamous Hobby Lobby decision in 2014?

Are corporations entitled to the same legal rights and protections
granted to individuals living in the United States; including religious freedom?

The Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment

According to Chief Justice Morrison Waite (1886):
"The court does not wish to hear argument on the question
whether the provision in the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution,
which forbids a State to deny to any person within its jurisdiction
the equal protection of the laws, applies to these corporations.
We are all of the opinion that it does.
"

According to the Wikipedia article:
"This dictum, which established that corporations enjoyed personhood
under the Equal Protection Clause,
was repeatedly reaffirmed by later courts.
It remained the predominant view throughout the twentieth century,
though it was challenged in dissents
by justices such as Hugo Black and William O. Douglas.
"

So until the law is changed,
corporations will continue to enjoy the protection of the 14th Amendment ...

just like people

The Arkansas state constitution says:
“No person who denies the being of a God shall hold any office
in the civil departments of the state; nor be competent to stand trial.”

So, only if you have invisible, imaginary friends
are you considered sane enough to stand trial?

I think we've found that planet described in old Superman comic books,
called Bizzaro World, where everything was completely ass backwards.

It's called Earth; and it's capital is located in Arkansas.

I swear to all that's visible, if aliens visited Earth right now ...
they would institutionalize the vast majority of Earth's inhabitants.

Mississippi Governor signs bill legalizing religious discrimination;
but naturally ... they call it "religious freedom."

"The bill says government cannot put a substantial burden on the practice of religion."

So, does that mean that slavery is back on the table? Stoning? Animal sacrifice?

Mississippi reaffirms its status as the Saudi Arabia ... of America

This bill actually makes sense:
They want the religious freedom to degrade and hurt their fellow citizens;
which is pretty much the way Christianity has operated for the past 2,000 years.

Another Christian judge ignores the Constitution
and finds excuses to allow 1st Amendment violation.

Here are a couple of excuses the judge gave
to justify his rape of the First Amendment:

"But not every religious symbol runs afoul of the Establishment Clause of the United States Constitution … Big Mountain Jesus is one of the only vestiges that remains of the early days of skiing at Big Mountain, and to many serves as a historical reminder of those bygone days of sack lunches, ungroomed runs, rope tows, t-bars, leather ski boots, and 210 cm. skis.”

Why do people need a religious statue to remind them of leather ski boots?
And why would a statue of Jesus remind them of leather ski boots?

Judge, these are important questions. Enquiring minds want to know.

The judge also argued that the statue would not cause someone who is a “reasonable informed observer” to believe that “the government rather than a private party endorses Christianity over any other faith or the absence of faith.”

Why does the First Amendment now hinge on what an informed observer thinks rather than on law?

If that had been a statue of Mohammad (pbuh), the judge would not have had time to issue a ruling because he would have been out at the ski resort with a work crew on the first day of the trial, removing the statue.

Christian Nationalism

Whether you are a religious American or an atheist,
hopefully this story will motivate you to take action

The Rise of Christian Nationalism is VERY Real

I sent the following reply to the authors of the article:
"These people will be met by an opposing army of Americans dedicated to preserving the ideals of our Founding Fathers. Since there are so few Atheists, this army is composed mainly of ... Christians."

The Kentucky legislature introduced a law that would force the state’s Department of Homeland Security to declare in its training materials that security is unattainable without reliance on “Almighty God.”

American Atheists sued, pointing out that this went against the state and federal Constitutions. They won but were defeated by an Appeals Court on a 2-1 decision. The state Supreme Court then refused to even look at the case.

Edwin Kagin, national legal director for American Atheists, said “What’s really frightening about this is, it’s increasingly clear that these people (proponents of such legislation) want to establish the Christian religion, and they’re getting more and more blatant about it all the time.”

My Conclusion

As humanity continues to become ever more enlightened and educated, Christianity is crashing all over the world, including America. We know that from numerous polls. Christian Nationalists know, as history has repeatedly shown, that power can be maintained through government coercion. That is the purpose of Blasphemy Laws. They are trying to use the government to accomplish, what they cannot accomplish on their own ... survival.

The "Religious Right" is always trumpeting its patriotism and waving American flags.

I think the F.F.R.F. might be making a mistake on this one, and here's why:
Does anyone really believe that there is a kid to be found anywhere in America
who hasn't heard of Jesus Christ? (hint: I would go with "no" on that one)

So these kids all already know about Christianity,
and the vast majority of them - are Christians. But think about it:
What is the #1 way to free people from Ghost Worship?

That's right - make them read the Bible.
Churches do everything in their power to steer people away from the bad verses.
I say, give them the Bibles and a homework assignment:
to read as much of the Old Testament as their little minds can stomach.

Christians attack public education by diverting millions of tax dollars ...

to voucher programs

Every poll shows that Christians are losing the battle for the youth of America ... badly. If they are to survive, they must focus most of their resources on the young. That explains why they are desperately fighting against science and history. They don't want to "teach the controversy"; because when they do - they lose. So their strategy is to destroy public education and get their kids into Christian schools, or homeschool them where they can control the curriculum.

Their only hope is to brainwash their kids while they are young,
and hide the truth from them for as long as they can.

New Hampshire won a victory over Christians by enforcing a law which prohibits state funding of religious schools. The key word here is "enforcing." 39 states have the law, but enforcement is difficult because Christians constantly violate man-made laws in all states, and especially at the national level (The Constitution).

That's why they are constantly being dragged into court. And since they are always fighting man-made laws in court, they are now attempting to fill the courts with Ghost Worshippers sympathetic to their cause; judges who will place their religious beliefs above their sworn duty to uphold our laws.

One of the most glaring examples of this, was the odious Carlos Bea who decided the 'Pledge of Allegiance' case in California (see podcasts #161-163).

They are the least patriotic and law-abiding citizens in our nation;
and this case is simply more proof of that sad fact.

Another 10 Commandments display

The solution?
Grant Christians the right to place the 10 Commandments anywhere they desire.
But ...
They must post the "Real" 10 Commandments as listed in Exodus 34,
not the set that Moses smashed in Exodus 20.

I guarantee, there will be no more displays of the 10 Commandments ...

Guess how Bradford County, Florida has decided to spend their money?

On a no-win lawsuit. By putting a monument containing the 10 Commandments on government property the County has guaranteed that during this recession, their taxpayers will be hit with a huge bill that was easily avoidable. Christians continue to defy American laws because they answer to a higher authority. Unfortunately for them, "He" doesn't do all that well in court.

Yet Another Monument to the 10 Commandments (only 3 pages)

Christian fundamentalists constantly violate the First Amendment of the Constitution. Permitting their illegal activities does not make their actions constitutional, any more than, not arresting thousands of Mormons makes polygamy legal. It is just more evidence that religious believers ignore our laws and are allowed to get away with it.

For those of you who ever wondered why people who don't believe in God won't admit to being "atheist", but prefer to refer to themselves as "agnostic," this story should help clear up that confusion.

Prayer lawsuit

And the smaller the community in which you live, the greater is the pressure to conform. That is why religion is weakest in large cities where anonymity grants a greater degree of safety from religious persecution. Now the internet is helping to make this possible even in the smaller cities. Though we are vastly outnumbered by people who rely on intimidation, threats, and physical violence, the tide is turning; slowly. But it is only going in one direction ... and it isn't theirs.

Now that Jessica Ahlquist has forced her high school to uphold the Constitution by removing a posted prayer, she is getting numerous death threats. No, not from Atheists - from the followers of Jesus. She needs police to escort her at school because of the physical danger she is in from Christians. Christians argue FOR separation of church and state ... against Yoga

As one commenter pointed out, this was reminiscent of the recent case where the Catholic Church was arguing that they shouldn't have to pay for the wrongful death of a fetus because ... hold on to your hats ... it wasn't a person yet!

Update (2 years later) ...

Christians lose

Christians fail to stop yoga instruction in public schools

I searched many news sources but could not find out who was behind this lawsuit until I tried Reuters, a London-based international news agency. As I suspected, the complaint wasn't filed by Atheists, but by Christians who once again went out of their way to demonstrate that religious freedom applies ... only to Christians.

Here is a quote that American media (like Fox News) didn't print: Dean Broyles, the attorney who represents Stephen and Jennifer Sedlock, whose two children opted out of yoga for physical education, said "There is a consistent anti-Christian bias in these cases and a pro-Eastern or strange religion bias."

So other religions are now called 'strange' religions?

(I guess so)

Less than 1% of students were taken out of the classes by their parents showing that most Christians were level-headed. However, there will always be that small percentage that fall into the 'Westboro Baptist' category.

But it gets better.

As you might recall, during the fight over the Pledge of Allegiance, Christians argued that students were not forced to recite "under God." But remember the story of Jessica Ahlquist? When she bravely fought to defend the First Amendment (and won). Her fellow students reacted by turning towards her during the Pledge of Allegiance and screaming "under God!" So opting out of Christianity will be punished.

So guess what the attorney, Broyles said? "The parents claimed that children who opted out of the program faced bullying and teasing."

Do you really believe that students were bullied for not wanting to attend Yoga classes?

(hint: I would go with "no" on that one).

See the classic Christian double standard?

They claimed kids were not forced to recite "under God," yet bullied one student who refused. Then they turn around and claim that kids are bullied ... but produce no evidence to prove they were. Classic Christian victimization technique.

"

Let's ask Jesus on this one ...
"Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye;
and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
"
Matthew 7:5

I just love quoting scripture to Christians.

The "WAR" on Christmas

Every year Christians get apoplectic at Christmas.
They claim that Atheists are trying to infringe on their religious freedoms.
Now for the truth.

I remember very well how this "war" started;
and it wasn't started by Atheists but by Christians.

Retailers count on the Christmas season to provide a larger than normal percentage of their yearly profits. In America, 25% of the population is non-Christian. Businesses cannot afford to ignore such a large segment of the population. So they began replacing "Merry Christmas" with phrases like "Happy Holidays," "Season's Greetings," etc.

At some point (I don't remember exactly when) Christians attacked.
They started boycotting businesses that didn't say "Merry Christmas."
THAT is how the "War on Christmas" began.

As they always do, first Christians attack, and then when people defend themselves, Christians play the victim and scream "religious discrimination!"
