Gun Nutz

How much did Dick's Sporting Goods lose in gun sales last year
after removing assault weapons and high-capacity magazines?
$150 million
All the other corporations chose the money over American lives.
Behold the power of the NRA and Big Business.
And they will continue to promote a culture of killing
for nothing more than ... money

Why do so many police officers oppose gun control?
This is related to another enigma in today's America:
Why do so many people vote against their own self-interests?
One group likely to benefit greatly from the banning of guns would be police officers.
Approximately 100 are murdered every year.
This is not the case in countries with strong gun control laws.
So why would ANY police officer be against legislation
that would give them a much greater chance to make it home safely each night?
This conundrum displays the full power that political ideology has over many people.
I used to believe that religion was more powerful than political ideology.
But Donald Trump's election, supported heavily by conservative Christians, proved me wrong.
The awesome power of political ideology
explains why people will sacrifice themselves for what they believe is right.
And what they believe is right, is too often, what Oligarchs have convinced them is right.
But what is right for the Oligarchs, is rarely right ...
for anyone else

Republicans fight back against those companies
who are punishing their source of campaign cash (the NRA) ...
by threatening to abolish tax breaks
Gee, I'm sure the NRA didn't have anything to do with that one.
The NRA profits hugely from the killing of Americans;
So much so, that they have become powerful enough to control many Congressmen.
The more gun violence and death - the more the profits soar.
Republicans work for the NRA - not for their constituents.
But Republicans KNOW that their constituents will keep voting them into office
no matter how many of them have to be killed in order to keep the money rolling in.
You asked for this America - and you keep asking for it.
So drop'em, bend over, and quit complaining.

In a desperate attempt to distract intense pressure away from their subservience to the NRA
and all of the blood money sitting in their campaign accounts,
which has resulted in a spate of school shootings,
Republicans find a scapegoat ... the Sheriff
Don't fall for the distraction.
Distraction is what enables magicians to pick your pocket before returning your wallet.
Distraction is also what enables Republicans to pick your pocket before they ...

Guns and Bibles
"
... those who are more involved in congregations
are less likely to own handguns,
but those with conservative theological beliefs
are more likely to do so ...."
This study gives us a little better understanding of what makes these nutjobs tick.

Legislation & Lobbying

Female American gun nut arrested at airport in Australia for importing a ...
gold-plated gun in her luggage
Here's the most pertinent part of the article:
"
Australia enacted its strict regulations in response to
a 1996 mass shooting that killed 35 and injured 28.
Between late 1996 and 1997, Australia instituted
one "of the largest mandatory" programs ever
to ultimately take 650,000 guns off the streets
and out of private homes.
Murder and suicide rates in Australia quickly declined."
This result is not specific to Australia
but has happened throughout the world,
wherever people have taken power away from
those who would profit off the deaths of others.
Obviously, America is not included in that group.

Florida Republicans push legislation
to allow their state to grant gun nutz
unlimited freedom except for ...
open carry
So why did they leave out "open carry?"
Because they didn't want to blow all their cookies at once.
They have to save something to offer them
the next time they desperately need them to vote.

The NRA and the Trump administration open markets for 3-D gun printing ...
by defeating the courts
Here is the gist ...
"
The administration capitulated in a case it had won at every step of the way.
This isn’t a case where the underlying facts of the law changed.
The only thing that changed was the administration.”

On the same day that Russian agent Maria Butina was indicted,
the NRA pressured Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin to ...
legalize 'dark money'
Republicans no longer even bother to try to hide their treason.
The only explanation for that, is that they know ...
that they OWN their base of idiots

The NRA gets out its checkbook and voila! ...
things get done
Of all the people who should be strongly against a Wild West society
you would think it would be the police, wouldn't you?
They are the ones who want to come home to their families at night.
So what explains this apparent contradiction?
Police officers are overwhelmingly Conservative.
So now we have yet another item to consider when researching the question ...
Why do people vote against their own self-interests?
In this case it is because political ideology is stronger, even than religion
(as evidenced by the overwhelming support for Trump by ... Evangelicals).

In 1935 the NRA was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.
That was the National Recovery Association
which attempted to regulate business and install fair business practices.
The NRA below has never been legally restricted.
They specialize in, and profit from ...
killing other living things

I took this quote off of an obscure comment thread ...
"
Every time we have a mass shooting,
how about showing pictures of all the NRA bribe takers in congress ...
instead of the shooters? "
If we truly had a Liberal mainstream media
you would see similar sentiments everywhere in the news.
If we had a Conservative media controlled by the rich
you would only find comments like that in ...
obscure comment threads

Georgia governor Nathan Deal signs law allowing guns in churches, schools, and ...
bars!
What could possibly go wrong?
Who made this madness possible?
If you google the following two 2nd amendment cases:
1) District of Columbia v. Heller (2008), and
2) McDonald v. Chicago (2010)
You'll find the culprits.
Nearly all judicial decisions nowadays break down along party lines, as they did in these 2 cases.
That's why the House of Representatives has blocked almost a hundred of Obama's judicial nominations.
What Conservatives can't accomplish through democracy,
they are attempting to accomplish by taking over the judicial branch.
In the process, Conservatives have proven to everyone
that "their" judges aren't objective interpreters of the Constitution,
but rather, are nothing more than political hacks ... in robes.

Death merchants of the National Rifle Association
find a way to quadruple gun sales
But - it gets worse
U.N. votes 154-3 to support first-ever global arms trade treaty
First, notice who were the only 3 countries to vote against it:
Iran, Syria, and North Korea (need we say more?).
Second, notice that even the country with the most to lose, America, supported it.
And finally, notice on which side of the debate the National Rifle Association came down on:
"
The NRA opposes the treaty and has vowed to fight
to prevent its ratification by the U.S. Senate when it reaches Washington.
The NRA says the treaty would undermine domestic gun-ownership rights,
a view the U.S. government rejects.
The American Bar Association, an attorneys' lobby group,
has said that the treaty would not impact the right to bear arms."
So the NRA sides with Iran, Syria, and North Korea against the whole planet.

Ye are known by the company thou keepeth." - neo 15:11

Tragic Gun Stories

Congressman Steve Scalise in critical condition
after being shot on a baseball field
If you've always had difficulty understanding what people were talking about
when they used the word "karma" ...
this quote from the end of the article should clear that up for you:
"
Scalise is also an outspoken supporter of
gun ownership rights under the Second Amendment.
During the 112th Congress, Scalise introduced
the Firearms Interstate Commerce Reform Act,
which eases federal restrictions on interstate firearms purchases.
He also co-sponsored a bill to repeal the DC gun ban —
a law that was later overturned by the Supreme Court
and he sponsored the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act of 2011,
which would allow national reciprocity for concealed carry permit holders.
Scalise has earned an A+ rating from the National Rifle Association."
That last line really says it all, doesn't it?
Now you'll never have a problem again, understanding the meaning of "karma."

I came across this at the web site of the National Rifle Association -
"
The experiences of watching antlers
emerge ghost-like through the dawn's white fog
or witnessing cupped mallard wings
darting sharply through a glassy cypress slough are in jeopardy.
They are at risk of becoming nothing more than scenes in stories
that we one day tell our children and grandchildren
when harkening back to the "good ol` days"--
the days when we could experience raw intimacy with wildlife through hunting."
That may be one of the greatest euphemisms of all-time.
Killing helpless, innocent animals is ...
"
experiencing the raw intimacy with widllife through hunting"
You can't make up stuff like that.
But it should give you an idea of the type of cold, heartless bastards we are up against.

After reading the story of a 4-year-old
who accidentally shot and killed his Iraqi war veteran father,
I sent the following message to "Shawn"
the operator of the web site "GodGutsGunsGlory.com"
"Shawn ... it should have been you.
The Texas Dept. of Child Protective Services ignored me
when I reported the danger to which you were subjecting your son.
Usually it is the child who is killed.
But even in this case, the child is still a victim
as he will have to struggle with what he did for the rest of his life,
trying to convince himself that it wasn't his fault.
But the guilt will never let him go free.
My advice?
Keep those guns of yours in plain sight.
We wouldn't want that boy of yours to miss a golden opportunity.
Yours in Christ, neo"
A little background:
Shawn bragged on his web site about how he trained his 4-year-old son
in the manly art of shooting a gun.
He also publicly taunted the Texas Dept. of Child Protective Services
to do something about it.
Yeah, I know. I can be a prick. But this guy really squeezes my nipples.
