Evolution Denial Abroad

Canada

In Canada, politicians get ridiculed for rejecting evolution (as they should be)

Compare this to America where anti-evolution lunacy
is a requirement for membership in the Republican party.
(that would be the party that is currently in control
of all branches of the American government)

Kenya

Kenyan evangelicals demand museum remove Turkana Boy fossils

If their God is real ... why do they have to hide evidence to the contrary?

It doesn't sound like Kenya is all that big on "Teaching the Controversy."

South Korea

I understand that you South Koreans are grateful to America
for defending you against that family of thugs who run North Korea;
but importing our religion isn't the way to show gratitude.

Evolution Meets Christianity: Christianity Wins

Christianity is like a spreading cancer
that will suck your money and dilute your education,
as this story just demonstrated.
Even Scientology would be less destructive.
Plus you would be entitled to free visits from Tom Cruise and John Travolta.
Compare that to what the Christians are offering you ...
Kirk Cameron and Pat Robertson

Not to mention, that with Scientology,
you don't have to worry about that whole "Eternal Torture" thing.
Seriously Korean dudes, if you are going to screw up your country ...

at least pick the lesser of two evils

Propaganda and Indoctrination

The Ark Encounter opened yesterday in Kentucky.

Kentucky is the state that legalized the transfer of tax money
from its citizens into the pockets of Ken Ham and his cronies.

I think Mark Twain had the best handle on Kentucky ...

When the end of the world comes, I want to be in Kentucky
because everything there happens 25 years after ...
it happens everywhere else.

Here is a perfect example of the law of "power" which states:
"it's never about being right or wrong; what matters is ... who you are."

If we ever become a rational society, then
it will be about right and wrong ... and not about power

This is what they teach them in private Christian schools.

Question 1
Student wrong - credited with correct answer.
Question 2
Student wrong - credited with correct answer.
Question 3
The Bible says nothing about dinosaurs.
Question 4
Teach children that "The Flintstones" is true.
Question 5
Since animals preceded plants by millions of years,
the answer given should have been marked "wrong, stupid"
Question 6
Student wrong - credited with correct answer.
Why was the student wrong about question #6?
Hey, I know how we can find out - let's check the Bible.

Job 40:16 "Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly."

Notice the problem? Dinosaurs laid eggs ... they didn't have navels.

In response, Christians have reinterpreted the verse in newer versions

and voila! "navel" has been replaced. I am sooo surprised.

But notice which picture is missing in question #6: the leviathan.
Based on the Bible (Psalms 74:14 and Job 41:19-21),
it would look something like this:

That's right, it's a multi-headed, fire-breathing dragon ... that lives in the sea.
Now that's what I call science. I wonder why they left that picture out?

To do to children, what these sick Ghost Worshippers are doing,
should be sufficient grounds to file charges for child abuse.

BUT ...

The child actually got the last question right (example: fruit bats), so the final grade was 1 out of 7; which, as we can see by the grade written at the top, is worth an A+ ... in the Bible Belt.

THIS JUST IN ... FOLLOW UP
Due to lack of funding ... the school has closed down
(it doesn't sound like God liked what they were teaching either)

Click on Noah's Ark to watch a short video (3:23) put out by Creationists
intending to refute Bill Nye's blistering attack on their beliefs,
and the effects of those beliefs on our children.
See how many logical fallacies you can spot (hint: there are plenty).

That picture was posted on Facebook by Christians who saw it as a slap at Nye.
They didn't even realize that every time they show the Flood,
they are showing the world just how unforgiving and evil
their invisible monster really is.
It's embarrassing enough that they believe this monster really exists;
but how sick do you have to be, to actually worship
this bloodthirsty killing machine?

Want more videos of Christians piling on Bill Nye?
Okay. Here's a video from the #1 Christian Himself ... God

Mr. Deity (4:30)

Why do Americans still lag behind the rest of the modern world in science?

Here are statistics from 2008
showing the funding levels of major Christian organizations
devoted to destroying confidence in science in order to keep their religion alive:

Organization                                  $Millions
Answers in Genesis                                  23
Institute for Creation Research                9
Discovery Institute                                    5
Reasons to Believe                                    4
Christian funding for pseudoscience      41

Same year - funding devoted to combatting religious lies:
National Center for Science Education ... 2 million.

If one were to construct a similar comparison for climate denial,
one would see the same disparity.
Christians are pouring tons of money (during a severe recession)
into convincing people to believe in their crap
and reject provable scientific fact.

Unless you want another 2,000 years of religious horror ...

you had better wake up America.

Ever wondered what "stupid" looks like?

Wonder no longer.

The part that really makes it clear why our nation is floundering so badly,
comes near the end:

Evolution Denial - The Science

6/9/17

Soren Kierkegaard wrote:

There are two ways to be fooled.
One is to believe what isn't true;
the other is to refuse to believe what is true.

Where does that leave evolution deniers?

They nailed foolishness ...

from both sides

Evolution-deniers jumped on the interpretation by some ENCODE scientists
that most of our DNA was functional.
But as always, their joy was short-lived
when other scientists pointed out that their hope was based
on a vague interpretation of the word "functional."

Now scientists clarify DNA functionality ...

and it didn't go too well for the evolution-deniers

Scientists discover that they have been wrong about the age of the Earth!

Creationists try to convince people that T-Rexes were gentle plant-eaters.
They do this because they can't have any killing before "The Fall."
As always, the scientific facts NEVER fall ... on their side of the debate.

Proof that T-Rex was a hunter not a scavenger

Function found, for some of the human genome's "dark matter"

Creationists will go nuts.

They have been fighting the existence of junk DNA for many decades.
If the non-coding sections of the human genome do have other functions,
this discovery will help free them from the burden of trying to explain
why their God would create beings with useless genomic material.

While this will add nothing to their evidence for the existence of their God,
even relief from one powerful argument will allow them some breathing room,
and force their adversaries to concentrate on other arguments.

However, if the entire genome does have purpose,
then this discovery also brings up some other familiar and difficult questions,
like "Why did your God use this genomic material to create diseases?"
and "If this is part of God's curse,
why didn't He remove it after Jesus paid for our sins?"

But the crucial part of the article is
"However, they are difficult to detect
and no one knows exactly what they all are doing or why they are there.
Now at least we know that they are real, and not just 'noise' or 'junk.'
Of course, the next step is to answer the question,
'what, in fact, do they do?'
"

So function has NOT yet been found.
Do you think Creationists will notice that part?
(see first sentence above)

The Universe has been fine-tuned for life by God?

In order for carbon-based life to exist,
a star must produce a sufficient amount of carbon and oxygen.
This can only happen inside of giant red stars.
If quark parameters varied more than 2-3% from what they are,
the amount of carbon and oxygen produced would be too low.

There is no evidence that the weight of quarks was assigned to them
by an invisible ghost with magical powers.
We only know that this is what they weigh, and as a result,
carbon-based life could have arisen in such star systems.

Creationists can't stand the fact that humans evolved from monkey-like creatures.
After reading this story, one could argue that ... we still are monkey-like creatures.

Now I see why it is so important to Creationists that evolution be false ...
